Princeton University normally offers two options for students wishing to apply: their single-choice Early Action plan or Regular Decision. However, Princeton has recently decided to remove their Early Action option. The announcement is now listed under their “COVID-19 Updates” page, but be aware that general searches may still bring up webpages that mention or explain Princeton’s Early Action option.
For students who were planning to apply to Princeton through the Early Action program due to the historically better odds of acceptance rates, I would strongly encourage considering other highly competitive schools’ Early Action plans while continuing with their Regular Decision application to Princeton.
With Princeton now only offering a Regular Decision option, we do not yet know if other colleges and universities will make the same changes. However, with the Common Application refresh complete, I would hope that any schools planning to remove or change their Early application options would do so soon!
